I didn't miss him, only his love. While in his arms, for a split second, I felt safe. My sorrows disappeared, crushed by a shared embrace. Passion but no lust, a hunger but not for each other - only for our troubles to disappear. Our love was one of need, not desire. We needed to feel the love the world denied us - the love only we could understand, only we knew. Only we knew what the other needed. We as people are frightened of the unknown and unexperienced - our love was the same - the contentment we felt was frightening. The flame was put out and horrors that once were suffocated arose again, pulling me down further than before. Lyn Roberts back |
